Of course, if you have a gas furnace, we highly recommend that you have a carbon monoxide detector so that you are safe from any malfunctions. Carbon monoxide - when undetected can cause serious health problems and even death. However, if you have a gas furnace and a carbon monoxide detector, you are safe to use one of the most popular ways to heat a residential building.

Electric Furnaces

Electric furnaces are also a very efficient way to heat your home - they give constant, even heat.These systems don't use a flame to heat the air, but rather use a heat pump or a heating element with a blower. These types of furnaces are great for small and medium sized homes. While heat from an electric furnace may be a bit more expensive, it is also safer. Carbon monoxide will never be an issue from an electric furnace.
